I LOVE the 80s!

I was thinking about a conversation we had in the Den last week where some of the gang were taking a nostalgic walk down memory lane (except for Leanne who came to the sudden realisation that she had a deprived childhood...) and remembering the good ol' 80s.
My favourite 80's cartoon show by a long way was the Thundercats! I used to totally hero-worship (or should that be heroine-worship?) Cheetara and wanted to be just like her when I grew up (although it's fortunate I didn't or I'd have probably wound up behind bars in London Zoo). I even had a little Cheetara action figure which would have been worth a small fortune now if I had kept it in its plastic rather than battering it to death in make-believe apocalyptic battles and tearing off its head ... oh well...
And, stranger still, some of the other kids and I in primary school formed a little "secret Thundercats gang" or something like that! I was the only girl in it so of course I got to be Cheetara and since I was meant to be the fastest Thundercat, if any of the boys tried to outrun me they ended up in the staffroom face to face with the trusty Dettol and cotton wool. Yup, the 80's sure were violent!!
What did the 80's do for you?
genki chan xx
The Thundercats were cool, but my favorite cartoon had to be.........wait for it! He-Man, yep He-Man, c'mon guys you know you all wish you could have a sword lifted in the air while saying "by the power of grey-skull....I HAVE THE POWEEEER!!" Man! those were the days.
Though I did have the Mumra action figure (from the Thundercats) with the eyes that lit up. The good ole 80's eh!
Leanne, c'mon! You must've been doing something during the 80's? Playing with Barbie, Nintendo......??

You know, Sha - the only people who refer to themselves in the third person are psychopaths and Julius Caesar... So I figure you need either to go and lie on a couch with Dr Freud or start a war with some neighbouring country and write really boring military essays about your conquests. Otherwise you're just plain weird...

I felt sorry for Mumra. I thought he was lonely stuck in that pyramid, laughing to himself. All that trouble he caused for those cats was simply a way of getting some attention. Imagine walking around dressed in bandages, looking scrawny all day, with only four large statutes to talk to. Then taking large dosages of supernatural "anabolic steroids" to look buff because you have a low image problem.

Sorry guys but in the 80s I had to put up with Ultraman and his blinking chest light.
